After a vote on March 31, 2022, we now incorporate the communities of Emerald Woods and Gates of Albion.

Organizes and Sponsors Community Activities:

• Produce two newsletters annually (Spring & Fall)
• Maintain our Emerald Woods website www.emeraldwoods.ca
• Monitor email for communicating with members of the community
• Maintain and monitor Emerald Woods Facebook group
• Maintain community bulletin board at Emerald Woods Park
• Organize community Garage Sale (May or June)
• Organize Children’s Christmas Party (December)
• Mini-soccer – runs from early May until the end of June
• Spring cleanup of Emerald Woods Park (May)

Community Advocacy:

• Monitor zoning changes, site plans, landscaping plans and provides feedback to the City of Ottawa
• Provide regular updates on what is occurring in the neighbourhood and surrounding area, such as development proposals e.g. light rail, Airport Parkway widening, Bank Street redesign, traffic and speeding issues, park planning, sports programs, community activities and events and meeting updates
• Monitor Emerald Woods safety and security issues
• Liaise regularly with Councillor Jessica Bradley‘s office regarding community issues
• Liaise regularly with our designated community officers regarding community issues

Every two years, on an odd year (e.g. 2019), we have a membership drive. As a resident of the Emerald Woods community, please consider supporting your Association by becoming a member. A nominal fee of $10 per household covers your membership for two years.
